I think I missed the convention here in Wisconsin this year. David Tennant made an appearance and I'm disappointed I didn't get a chance to see him. I've been to the Phoenix Comic Con for the past three years and that's pretty amazing. Apparently it's grown into the second largest convention behind San Diego.
I met Lauri Holden from The Walking Dead and had her sign one of my compendium books, Sam Witwer from Being Human (Got signed pics with him) and Chris Claremont, writer of X-Men, among other celebs.
Has anyone else attended events like this? (Yes, I know my geek is showing).

I've always wanted to attend the NY Comic Con and cosplay as well, whenever I attend, but I have yet to go. One day, I will and I intend to enjoy it to the fullest !

I'm surprised to hear you've never attended. I thought you'd be a regular at events like that...lol. I can't say what NY is like, but if it's anything like the others I've been to, you'll love it.

I have been to San Diego although I've only managed to get tickets once. Maybe next year. I went to that one in Dubai last year and met Gillian Anderson. That is actually quite a big event with a lot of talks and some big-name guests. The London one is also pretty big (London film and comic convention if you want to look it up :-)) San Diego remains the king though! They are amazing fun, so, Jade, get yourself to one now!
