Is anyone planning on seeing this? I've been a comic book fan since I was a kid so I love how popular the Marvel and DC movies have become (mainly because popularity translates into studios being willing to spend big money on the films).
What I really want to see is the eventual convergence of the storyline surrounding the Infinity Stones which should bring the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy together. This could be epic. In the meantime, I'll be happy just to sit back and watch my favorite superheroes battle it out in this years films.
Any other fans out there?

I am the opposite of you because I am really into the villains! For this reason, the film I am most excited about is Suicide Squad :-) (Not just because of Jared Leto) for some unknown reason I seem to enjoy the villains a lot more than I do the heroes.

OMG. OMG. WATCH THIS. WAAATCH IT. I am a big superhero movie fan (I'm familiar with the comic books, but I've never read them or collected them), and Marvel is bringing the superhero movie franchise into a whole other level! Without spoiling anything, I'll say that Civil War doesn't put too much of a focus on Infinity Stones; the main focus is the conflict between Captain America and Ironman (duh), but there are subtle hints regarding what Marvel is building up to, particularly with the stone on Vision. But Infinity Stone plotline aside, the movie on its own was AMAZING. It took 12 superheros with varying powers and personalities and actually balanced them all, doing them all justice without taking attention away from the main conflict, and the conflict was actually believable. I could understand where each side was coming from. It was hilarious, it was poignant, and it was very well-written. Obviously, it has some issues, but overall, a must-watch. Especially for a superhero fan. Trust me, Chris, watch the superheroes battle it out. It's worth it. And then come back and we shall fangirl/fanboy and analyze and rant ! Also, Angie: I'm excited for Suicide Squad too ever since the first trailer came out with Bohemian Rhapsody as the soundtrack. Hello, Awesome. I have no preference with superhero vs villain. I'm really really hoping that Harley Quinn is not going to be relegated to some damsel in distress or sex object or something. Because she has such a complex story and personality and she's so badass. I'm really hoping they do justice to her in the movie.

My friends on Facebook are all debating whose side they're on, with several of them saying they started out on one side and changed over the course of the movie. My main concern is that the promos I'm seeing are so poorly sound edited that I can't understand what the people are saying. What kind of commercial is that? One that subtly suggests that talking is not the point of this movie. Hopefully you can hear the dialogue in the actually movies?

I don't think they will be painting Harley as a damsel in distress, she looks like quite a leading figure in the trailers. It depends how closely they are going to be following the comic books I suppose. Like you, I really hope they do her justice :-)

Ok, I finally saw it. Fantastic, just as I hoped. I'd say it actually exceeded my expectations. The storyline was well crafted with strong themes running throughout. I also enjoyed how the film makers have started to integrate the previous films (The other Avengers movies and Winter Soldier) into a larger story arc. The action sequences were intense and I like how they kept true to the different skills and powers of the different heroes. Spidey was much stronger than Cap, but inexperienced. Vision is a powerful adversary, but Scarlet Witch managed to handle him. Ant Man was effective instead of being a joke and just having such an ensemble cast was amazing.
So yeah, I liked it.
Now... Bring on X-Men!

I've never noticed poor audio quality in the trailers, however I can assure you that the movie has super clear dialogue ! Chris - I agree with you wholeheartedly! Have you seen Xmen Apocalypse?!

I'm glad to hear the sound is better in the theater! I wonder if it's my TV. I think it's trying to sound-balance the really loud action crash scenes, and the much quieter dialogue stuck quickly in between just sounds so quiet and garbled.

I love the summer movie season! I actually watched Civil War twice. It was mindblowingly epic both times. I haven't seen Xmen yet, but I am making tentative plans lol
