I have been playing around with my Samsung tablet looking for something to help me stop procrastinating and get motivated.
I found it in this application Writemeter.
There is no way of telling if this is an android only thing of whether it is available on other platforms such as Apple or Windows. However, I can't recommend this program enough. You can set a project with a deadline and the amount of work to want to get done in that time. It then tells you what you need to do per day and gives you reminders to keep going. You can set a timer and write for a specific amount of time and then give yourself the time to break and it will remind you once it is time to start again. You customise rewards and say how much you want to get written before you get a certain reward. You can also set it to give you a reward for the amount of time that you write. I am absolutely amazed with much work I have got done since installing this application.

Installed! This really is amazing! I've just been exploring it and I think this will be great for keeping up that motivation. I'm using it to stay on track with my editing now, since I'm doing that at the moment. Not sure how that will work out, but I think at least to stay focused, this will help even when I'm not necessarily getting a specific amount written each day.

It definitely works at least for keeping you on track and staying motivated Though I've realised that I can't really update my word count if I'm cutting parts and ending up with less words than before...!

Though I've realised that I can't really update my word count if I'm cutting parts and ending up with less words than before...! Actually, I've figured this one out - when updating how many words you have written, you can enter negative values.

Fantastic :-)
I was going to suggest maybe setting a target like six… Only instead of six words this would mean six pages. Mind you, negative values would work!

True, that would work too! I'll just test out both versions to see what works better for me
